Three corpse flower (Amorphophallus titanum) plants, also known as titan arum or the stinky plant, bloomed in August 2017 at the U.S. Botanic Garden Conservatory.
Pictures were taken on Aug. 23, Aug. 25, Aug. 28, Sep. 1, 2017

The Mid-Autumn Festival is a harvest festival celebrated by Chinese people. The festival is held on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar with full moon at night, normally it is around late September to early October with a full moon at night.

Mooncake: Making and sharing mooncakes is one of the traditions of this festival. In Chinese culture, a round shape means completeness and reunion of family.

Artist: Bach, Johann Sebastian (biography) (sheet music)
Born: 21 March 1685 , Eisenach
Died: 28 July 1750 , Leipzig
The Artist: One of the greatest composers of all time. Bach wrote hundreds of pieces for organ, choir, as well as many other instruments. He spent most of his life as a church organist and a choir director. His music combines profound expression with clever musico-mathematical feats, like fugues and cannons in which the same melody is played against itself in various ways.

Composed: 1713
Written in 1713, early in Bach's tenure at Weimar, the Hunt Cantata was composed to for a celebration in Weissenfels of the birthday of Duke Christian of Sachsen-Weissenfels and later reworked and performed at other similar birthday celebrations and on namedays.

Bazille began studying medicine in 1859, and moved to Paris in 1862 to continue his studies. But he spent most of his time at the School of Fine Arts to paint in the Workshop of Charles Gleyre. There he met Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Alfred Sisley, was drawn to Impressionist painting, and began taking classes in Charles Gleyre's studio. After he failed his medical exam in 1864, he began to paint full-time. His close friends included Alfred Sisley, Claude Monet, and Édouard Manet. Bazille was very generous with his wealth, and helped support his less fortunate friends by giving them space in his studio and materials for them to use. And some of them are the greatest impressionist artists.
Impressionism is A French 19th century art movement which marked a momentous break from tradition in European painting. Impressionism originated with a group of Paris-based artists whose independent exhibitions brought them to prominence during the 1870s and 1880s. They paint the pictures with a lot of color and most of their pictures are outdoor scenes. Their pictures are very bright and vibrant.
