Jean Frédéric Bazille (December 6, 1841 – November 28, 1870) was a French Impressionist painter, was born in a Protestant family of the upper middle class of Montpellier in the south of France. His father was a rich landowner and wine grower as well as a notable of the city of Montpellier. He helped found the Impressionist movement of the late 19th century before he died in combat in the Franco-Prussian War. Bazille’s best-known painting is The Family Gathering (Family Reunion) of 1867–1868 (Musée d'Orsay, Paris).
Bazille began studying medicine in 1859, and moved to Paris in 1862 to continue his studies. But he spent most of his time at the School of Fine Arts to paint in the Workshop of Charles Gleyre. There he met Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Alfred Sisley, was drawn to Impressionist painting, and began taking classes in Charles Gleyre's studio. After he failed his medical exam in 1864, he began to paint full-time. His close friends included Alfred Sisley, Claude Monet, and Édouard Manet. Bazille was very generous with his wealth, and helped support his less fortunate friends by giving them space in his studio and materials for them to use. And some of them are the greatest impressionist artists.
Impressionism is A French 19th century art movement which marked a momentous break from tradition in European painting. Impressionism originated with a group of Paris-based artists whose independent exhibitions brought them to prominence during the 1870s and 1880s. They paint the pictures with a lot of color and most of their pictures are outdoor scenes. Their pictures are very bright and vibrant. The artists like to capture their images without detail but with bold colors. Some of the greatest impressionist artists were Edouard Manet, Camille Pissaro, Edgar Degas, Alfred Sisley, Claude Monet, Berthe Morisot and Pierre Auguste Renoir, Frédéric Bazille

Music: I Saw Three Ships
Holiday, Bright
"I Saw Three Ships (Come Sailing In)" is a traditional and popular Christmas carol from England. The earliest printed version of "I Saw Three Ships" is from the 17th century, possibly Derbyshire, and was also published by William Sandys in 1833.
Blackmore's Night Lyrics
"I Saw Three Ships"

I saw three ships come sailing in
 On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
 I saw three ships come sailing in
 On Christmas Day in the morning.

 Pray, wither sailed those ships all three,
 On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
 Pray, wither sailed those ships all three,
 On Christmas Day in the morning.

 O they sailed into Bethlehem,
 On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
 O they sailed into Bethlehem,
 On Christmas Day in the morning.

 And all the bells on earth shall ring,
 On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
 And all the bells on earth shall ring,
 On Christmas Day in the morning.

 And all the souls on earth shall sing,
 On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
 And all the souls on earth shall sing,
 On Christmas Day in the morning.

 Then let us all rejoice again,
 On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
 Then let us all rejoice again,
 On Christmas Day in the morning

 I saw three ships come sailing in
 On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
 I saw three ships come sailing in
 On Christmas Day in the morning.

 I saw three ships come sailing in
 On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
 I saw three ships come sailing in
 On Christmas Day in the morning.

Relaxing Music: Circus Waltz Silent Film Light - Pop, Happy
Picture Location: National Harbor DC
National harbor is located along the Potomac River just south of Washington DC and across the river from Alexandria VA. It has a convention center, hotels, restaurants, and condos. The area is known for its scenic waterfront and also hosts different events throughout the year including concerts and film screenings.
The MGM resort is right next to it and includes a casino, hotel, stores, spa, restaurants, theatre and much more.

Although National Harbor is only 2 square miles it is an urban waterfront community with lots of newer construction and plenty going on.

As far as transportation to and from National Harbor there is no metro and driving is usually the recommended form of transportation, (not a far drive from Northern Va 5-15 minutes) or downtown DC (10-20 minutes). There is also a short water taxi from Old Town Alexandria that brings you to the harbor.

There are over 25 restaurants here including McCormick and Schmicks, Rosa Mexicano, The Sunset Room, and many other great places.
